Overview

Responsibilities

 

  • Network Development - the ongoing success of specific programs continues to evolve toward a continuum of care with adequate geographic coverage to effectively offer its services to a broad range of patients and payers. 
  • Is responsible for special programs and their operational excellence. Assures the delivery of services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and professional standards. 
  • Assures proper utilization of organization's financial resources. 
  • Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as a part of a specific program team to facilitate the ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, physicians and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. 
  • Plans, organizes and implements outreach initiatives for the specific programs assigned.
  • Coaches immediate subordinates by providing feedback and constructive critique of work, facilitating the development of their problem solving and decision making skills, documenting their job performance annually.
  • Start IV’s, Manage IV’s, central catheters 
  • Be able to communicate effectively with patients and ancillary departments. 
  • Effectively arranges for continuity of patient care on the week-ends and after hours.
  • Have working knowledge of common IV medication administration, able to recognize complications related to medication administration.
  • Attends staff meetings, reads staff meeting minutes, and participates in staff initiatives as necessary.
  • Understand charting system, ability to navigate through electronic charting system with little assistance.
  • Read and understand physician orders, know correct processes for clarification, if needed.
  • Develop relationships with providers.
  • Appropriately use specific technique for managing IV sites/catheters.
  • Effectively manages IVT patient schedules/scheduling.
  • Conserves resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Is responsible for IV Therapy program. Assures delivery of quality services in accordance with policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Participates in outreach opportunities as able.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse in Same Day Surgery setting preferred- not required
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Idaho/Compact State
  • Current CPR, BLS, ACLS & PALS Certificationrequired
