Prepares and serves food for internal and external customers. Food is prepared, served, held and stored at proper temperature and under sanitary conditions. Responsible for overall sanitation of cafe/deli equipment.
Prepares special baking items as needed.
Works cooperatively with the serving staff, ensuring high quality food is being served and proper portions are being maintained.
Ability to make appropriate use of time to get the customers through the line quickly.
Steam table items prepared in the cafe are replenished as needed to maintain optimal temperatures, appearance, and flavor.
All foods are temped, recorded, observed, and tasted so that appropriate adjustments can be made before serving to customers.
Trains new staff in proper procedures.
Must regard customer service as number one priority.
Must have knowledge of cash handling.
Must be able to follow and modify recipes.
Must be able to work expeditiously and accurately.
Must work well with others, maintain composure during stressful situations, and accept direction from supervisors.
Maintains current food handlers card.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of on the job training in principles of food preparation preferred.
