  • Overview

    Part time position, current schedule will be approximately 32 hours per week but may be suject to change.  

     

    Coordinate, implement, and evaluate the organization’s infection prevention and control program. The focus will be ambulatory and the Skilled Nursing Facility.

    • Perform infection control surveillance/environmental rounding for outpatient clinics.
    • Create and maintain an infection control plan for the Skilled Nursing Facility that complies with updated CMS standards; to include resident and staff education.
    • Perform other surveillance activities for the hospital and associated facilities per request.
    • Visit isolated residents to ensure isolation precautions and aseptic techniques are followed.
    • Review and analyze laboratory reports and consult with nurses and providers in developing the care plan
    • Participate in committee meetings as requested
    • Assist with employee health and new hire immunizations/health history as needed

    Work closely with and reports to the Infection Preventionist Nurse

    Responsibilities

    Promotes and applies infection control measures to prevent and/or control infections among patients and employees.  Facilitates compliance with JCAHO and CMS regulations. Visit outpatient clinics for IC/Environmental rounds. 

    Qualifications

    Certified Infection Control Practitioner preferred or the willingness to become certified within two years. 

     

    Must have current Idaho RN license.

     

    Possess either a baccalaureate degree (microbiology, pharmacy, nursing, or other health related degree) or be a Registered Nurse (RN).

     

    Experience working with medical records, evaluating and presenting data.

     

    NHSN experience preferred but not required.
